I think that technically this striped number by Marine Layer is called a full-length dress rather than a muumuu, hmm. Itโs a long dress with bright colors and a pattern, though, so I think itโs close enough. ๐
I bought it recently at Nordstrom rack and have absolutely no regrets!
Not only is it cute, itโs made out of 100% cotton, so on really hot days, it feels airy and light against my skin. Super comfy.
I usually wear a size 6, so I followed the size recommendations and ordered a medium, but I think I couldโve sized down with the small too. I donโt mind the slightly larger fit, though. I like that itโs roomy and how it looks like a maxi dress on me. Side note, Iโm 5 foot one, by the way.
For summer outings, I think this dress is perfect. You could probably wear it to work too, but I would pair it with a jacket or a sweater because I feel like the neckline does go a little bit low and I like to be covered up.
As for the material, the cotton is soft, but not stiff, and it doesnโt feel crispy against my skin. Oh, and bonus, itโs purposefully crinkly so you donโt have to iron it. You can just wash and wear it. Easy peasy.
Unfortunately, now the dress is sold out on the Nordstrom Rack website, but itโs still available on the Marine Layer website and itโs on sale! And if colorful, rainbow stripes arenโt your thing, they also have it in other striped combinations and solids too. Highly recommended, especially if you live someplace that gets hot during the summer, and youโre looking for is chic, easy-to-wear dress that keeps you cool!
Although I love this dress, I donโt think itโs half as cool as the โ80s themed outfit Connor wore to her schoolโs closing assembly yesterday.
The theme was new wave music, and so the kids sang a bunch of songs from that musical era. Honestly, I donโt think that half the parents got the references because theyโre younger than I am, but whatevs. I rocked out to Tears for Fears and Billy Idol and have no regrets!
